first bell rang 2009/ 2010

It was the fifth time when the first bell rang for the pupils of secondary school “ OR AVNER” in Mogilev on the 1-st of September, 2009.

    The pupils, their parents, teachers and members of Jewish community gathered together in beautifully decorated hall. All of them were in nice wearing, joyful and happy.

Pupils with their teachers prepared holiday program for the Day of Knowledge: poems, songs, quires were  interesting for all present. 

    Rabbi Mendel  Alperovich wished good health, wealth, great success in studying to all pupils, their parents and   teachers. He gave the gifts to pupils.

   All of present expressed the great gratitude to the Federation of Jewish communities and the fund “Keren Edidut” for constant care about children and great material support.

    When the holiday finished the local sponsors gave gifts to pupils.

A special Sabbatical for children

The last Shabbat on 16.05.09, a special sabbatical for children and parents was put on. The sabbatical took place in the synagogue with tens of children participating in prayer and Shabbat meals. The sabbatical took place with the cooperation of the school and the Jewish community of Pinsk. They also sent special delegates who were a source of pleasure on the Shabbat with their words of Torah and songs of Shabbat.

The children and their parents expressed their gratefulness to the organizers of this delightful event, and expressed their hope that these sabbaticals would continue in the future.

Lag-B'omer in Mogilov

On Monday 11.05.09 Lag-B'omer at night, the members of the Mogilov community got together to celebrate Lag-B'omer the celebration took place outside the synagogue with the participation of tens of Jews of all ages. After the traditional bon-fire lighting ceremony, the participants enjoyed a kosher barbecue and a chasidic gathering till the early hours of the morning.

On Tuesday 12.05.09 the celebrations continued with the children of "Ohr Avner" Chabad school, in the school auditorium, where there took place a special question and answer session, and afterwards the children were taken outdoors to play.
